The December newsletter is posted now. Looks good to me. How does it look to y'all?
One thing I noticed, after it was too late, was that it would have been nice to identify Bruce Ferguson as a former PSFF member in the fly of the month article.
Yes, that would have added a nice touch.
Bob, if someone wants to post something on this forum, what is the best way to access this page? Is there a web address, an email address, or just off the PSFF web page showing a red symbol in the upper right hand section of the home page?
You have been the sole generator of comments with others following up and/or responding to your initial comment or question. If I or others want to start a discussion, how do we do it?
Do you see the highlighted button when you look at the forum pages? I just click on that button and let'er rip.
@Bob Jimerson That is clear as long as you know how to get there. I suspect you also just saw my latest revelation on accessing the forum from the Members Only tab on the PSFF web site home page.
Yes. I'm going to try and bookmark the forum page and see how it treats me when I try and enter directly.
@Bob Jimerson in answer to your question about the newsletter and how it looks, there were features that Dennis used which I miss. I like the listing of the next meeting guest speaker right below the banner. I also liked that there was an article supporting that right under the President's opening remarks. I think that info is motivating for anyone reading the newsletter to attend the upcoming meeting.
Why we don't have a consistent look from editor to editor is a bit confusing to me. I think consistency is important but that may just be me and my quirk. (Every printed newspaper has the exact same layout from day to day, from the WSJ to the throwaway community gossip rag. Only the content changes.)
I realize it is a volunteer who steps up and offers to assemble and distribute the newsletter therefore I don't want to offend and criticize the free help. Perhaps this should be a Board decision - one way or the other.
It looks like I can bookmark the forum and get to it directly from my bookmarks. Interestingly, I could see and navigate around the forum without being logged in, or being asked to log in.
Only when I went to create a new post was I prompted to log in. I'll see if I can find a setting to tweak to fix that.
Also going to see if I can move this part of this thread over to the meta discussion folder.
So much to learn ...
Thanks for hustling all of this. And let's try to make this more than a Bob loves Mike loves Bob forum!
Not finding tools to further lock down access so that only logged in members can access the forum page. May require a deeper dive into Wix customer support. Need to medicate prior to trying something like that.
