I’m wondering if there’s a way to do a zoom call to teach fly tying. And send a list of ingredients out a week before so folks can stock up. Could be an evening or weekend since we don’t have to worry about space availability. Could also be recorded for archives and put on the website/Facebook for new content.

I'm certain it could be done. It seems that it could be just like a YouTube video, but addressing it to a specific audience via Zoom. Great idea.
I'd be willing to give it a try. I've thought about it a lot but the time constraints might get in the way. It's one thing to do it in a room but another over the net. The best thing, in my opinion would be to select a specific fly and then run with it. Everyone would need to have the materials in hand as the session starts. I've been trying to think of a way to keep our education program going and this might be a viable way to do it. All things being equal, that is if people would want me or someone else to do the session.
This could be a lot of fun.
Comments/Questions:
* frequency? monthly and adhoc?
* signup process? when/if others then Steve S want to present
* watch, ask questions and learn? then do later since materials list already Then good focus to watch. Today we tie from a book or Youtube so same. But with Zoom we can ask questions during the process, cool!
* if recorded then could rewatch to help on tying process. (great)
* process to get requested patterns to present?
* presentation - need focused closeup ability, done via phone on tripod? probably just my ignorance on this "how to" process.
* I'm open to a test when folks are ready.
My son-in-law is a techie for the Issaquah school district and has put together some amazing videos/picture reviews of the trips the family has made. I'll talk with him and get the basics. I think we just need a camera for the presentation. The zoom meetings are limited to 45 minutes so things would need to be kept pretty simple to allow time for follow-up. Probably would have to have a list of fly pattern, materials, hook sizes, etc. posted ahead so everyone could be ready to tie as soon as we go on line. I'll work on it.
If you’re able to use the clubs account then time is unlimited.
Unlimited time or unlimited number of participants?
I believe both. Mike can confirm.
