Finally made it out last week (6/11). Main purpose was to try out my stand up pontoon, but fishing was to be involved. Went to Clear Lake/Bald Hills. Raining cats and dogs when I got there, so I chose to postpone putting the pontoon together until after the rain was expected to stop.
Second purpose was to try out an ultralight spinning outfit I'd put together. Rigged up and fished from the shoreline at the launch and started fishing with spinners. Caught my only fish of the day. An 11 inch, fat bodied, "whale". Felt like it on the ultralight, anyway. Took me into the weeds right away, but I did manage to land him.
Once the rain stopped I put the pontoon together and launched. The testing went well. I was worried that I might be too "top heavy" for the stand up feature of the 10-iR, but I had no problem. Leaned back and forth, forward and back, and it was as stable as I could ask for! Just fished with the spinning setup for a couple of hours after that, but got no further bites and it was time to head to the barn.

Great you got out... But I'm curious about two things. Mostly your new boat... What is a 10-iR? Then... What's the deal with "spinning rod"??
The 10-iR is an Outcast Fish Cat 10 foot pontoon with a standing platform and lean bar.
As for the spinning rod, I have a little of everything. Have to use it now and then.
I fished it back in May and we only caught four fish. Never on the same fly.
