Went out to the lake yesterday afternoon. This is a lake I haven’t had a lot of success on, but yesterday was different. Using the Jimerson Bloody Bunny on an S4 line or a poor replica of such fly that I had tied on a Coastal intermediate sink line, was the trick. There was a green cloud layer of algae about 2’ below the surface and you had to get below the layer for any action. Heading 90 degrees straight towards the old pylons was the trick. Start in about 12-13’ of water. Once you were in about 7-9’ you’d get a hard strike nearly every time. Nearly had my pole ripped from my hand on one hit. Only got two hits heading away. Landed 8, lost 5-6 and had another 3-4 good hits. 4 of the fish were taken in front of the houses just to the right of the photo. Water temp was 52. No winds.
