Flies for the Cowlitz?
Since I missed the outing last month and I have a free Sunday this weekend, I was going to make the trek down to the Cowlitz. Can anyone recommend a couple (somewhat) basic flies I might try? I have a few store bought streamers, but I'd like to tie up something myself.

So I went and fished Blue Creek yesterday to try out my new SH Spey rig and It was....ok. Need to work on my line management(It's hard to shoot a head when your running line is dragging 15 yards downstream ;), oh well ). Went back to the car and switched to a standard floating line and got a few bumps but no takes. Saw two guys in boats land a couple nice Cutthroats, but no one else seemed to be hooking up either.
I did run in to Rick from Healing Waters and we chatted a bit, so that was cool, and a gear fisherman passed me a rumor about the area below Barrier Dam opening. Still a good day.
