Fly Casting & Tying Fair
Big thanks to all of our volunteers who turned out for the WSCFFI event at Pickering Barn Park in Issaquah on Sunday. We helped set up and take down the indoor tying rooms and did the same for the outdoor casting stations. A number of our members had plenty of time to hone their casts under the tutelage of some fine casting instructors, including Master Casting Instructor Molly Semenik, who also did a great presentation that included her secret weapon, "the squeeeze." Check out Joan Wulff describing the subtle technique at minute 4:27 on her video, "Joan Wulff Teaches the Basics of Fly Casting": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyThAv-WPSg
A few of us even medaled at the Fly Casting Skills Challenge. Penny Mabie earned her Silver level; Doug Bayes, Tess and I got our Bronze. There were probably others who also medaled. (If you were one of them, please respond to this post.) Special thanks to PSFF members Michael Merringer and Steve Seville for sharing their expertise in casting-skills development. Classes included Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced classes.
