Does not look like I did a very good job cleaning during many years fishing salt water. First picture is the handle showing corrosion on the cork insert. Second picture shows the completed project....replacing the reel seat and grip.

Thank you Mike Trask for your suggestions and encouragement. With Mike's pointers, I was able to do the project without disturbing anything beyond the cork (hook keeper ect.).

I assembled the Sage One 9'6" 6# when they first came out. Should have bought more blanks. Salt Away is my new best friend!

Finished project. I wanted to preserve the Sage and PSFF logos (old one on the other side of the rod). I source most of my supplies and parts from Mud Hole.
