I'm putting together a trip to the Kvichak River in Western Alaska August 23-29, 2026 to fish the largest Rainbow Trout on planet Earth. 30+ inch Rainbows are not uncommon if you know how to fish them. The Kvichak supports an +8 million annual sockeye run which the Rainbows gorge on and grow to enormous length and girth. We'll be staying at the Do It Yourself Seasons on the Fly Lodge (SoF) www.seasonsonthefly.com. I've fished the Kvichak +15 times over the last 30 years and am looking for up to 5 more anglers so we can buy the entire SoF Lodge (4 rooms with 2 beds each) for the week.
